The Produce Pile

We try to eat healthy around here, which means we *try* to eat enough fruits & veggies.  One of the ways I make sure we do that is with the produce pile.

I keep all the produce in a big pile on my counter.  It provides us with a visual reminder that we need to eat through the pile every week – if it’s not shrinking then we’re not doing a very good job.  It also prevents produce from going to waste because it’s never “out of sight, out of mind.”

Of course, there are some veggies or fruits that are better stored in the fridge, but for the produce that can be stored on the counter, the produce pile works for me!
