There is the kind where you are running frantically from one thing to the next, late to every destination, always thinking about the next stop and unable to enjoy the current one. Let’s call this “Running Around Like A Chicken With Your Head Cut Off” Busy.
Then there’s what I will call Wonderful Busy. The type of busy where your days are filled with fun, memory making, productivity, and you fall into bed happily weary but not bone-dead tired at the end of the day.
I had a day like that this weekend. My Saturday was so full of fun, playtime, friends, happiness, lawn-mowing, grocery shopping, and housekeeping that towards the end of the day I honestly thought I was wrapping up my Sunday. Each day is a gift, and I felt I had squeezed every ounce of every minute out of that one, without wasting a moment.
We are a wonderfully busy family, especially during the summer months, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I also know I love those lazy, do-nothing days, but since I’m still riding the high of my wonderfully busy weekend I can’t for the life of me remember why.
Don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll have one, love it, and write a post about it in due time. What’s an election year without a good old-fashioned flip-flop, anyway?
Until then, here’s wishing you a wonderfully busy summer!
