Monday Mom Confession

Monday Mom ConfessionDoing a Monday Mom Confession a few weeks ago was so fun and freeing that I’m going start doing it weekly, at least until I’m out of ideas to share.  I’d love for you to join me – there’s a link-up below so feel free to jump on board, or just share your own confession in the comments!  Let’s throw off the weight of perfection and get real around here.

As much as Conlan adored his sister when we brought her home from the hospital, I never had any sort of fantasy that we’d never struggle with sibling bickering.  I knew it would show up eventually.

In reality, it held off longer than I expected but now it’s in full swing in the Slaney house.  Let’s be honest.  Toddlers are irrational, difficult to deal with, and kind of annoying to adults.  How do you think it feels to a five-year-old?

So it’s pretty common to hear Conlan shriek “BRYNNA!  STOP IT!” when she’s getting into his stuff/taking his toys/destroying his Lego creations/stepping on his head during a wrestling match.

I can’t even handle it sometimes.  Which explains this reaction that I’m not particularly proud of:

“Conlan!” I said.  {Voice raised, of course.}  “Stop yelling at your sister.  That’s my job!”

Do you have a confession to make and want to link up?  Or do you want to read other mamas’ confessions? Click the linky below!  {Alright, after last week’s linky fail I did some research and learned I can’t embed a link-up directly into my post with my current platform.  I’m trying another linky again, which sadly must be on a separate page, but to entice you, you get to upload a picture with your link!  Click on the graphic below to link up or read other confessions!}

  1. I have to say this all of time in my house! To my 9 y/o: I didn’t have another kid so you can yell at her! I had another one so I had someone else to yell at!”
    All the good moms say it 🙂

  2. Thank gosh, I am not the only one. I am always telling my 11 year old to stop yelling at her 2 year old brother. I always tell her I never spoke to you that way. She is JUST mean sometimes. Well being 11 so pretty tough you know. MOST days she is a huge help and I am greatful for her.
