Monday Mom Confession

Monday Mom ConfessionEvery week I do a Monday Mom Confession because while we all want the very best for our children, it’s impossible to do everything right all the time.  Admitting that is freeing – and it’s also encouraging to other moms in the midst of intense seasons.  I’d love for you to join me – share a link to your own confession post in the comments, or just make your confession here!  Let’s throw off the weight of perfection and get real around here!

I’m just gonna get right to it.

I don’t really like my slow cooker.

I can already hear you.  “What?!?  The crock-pot is every working mom’s best friend!

And indeed, I do use it; I’ve found a few winners that we make with regularity.  But I’ve come to admit that, sadly, the losers far outweigh the winners.  I find a lot of the dishes turn out either 1) bland or 2) all tasting the same.

I can’t be the only one that feels this way, can I?  How do you feel about your slow cooker?

Do you have a confession to make or have you blogged about your own imperfections?  Throw off the weight of perfection and join me – confess in the comments!

  1. I don’t use mine much — I feel like it
Takes more preparation to have the crockpot meal ready in the morning before work — I rather just worry about dinner after work.

  2. I do enjoy using the slow cooker, but I find that I tend to make the
Same three recipes over and over again: pot roast, beef stew and shredded chicken for burritos/soups. It is a challenge to remember to prep the night before so that I’m not having to cut up onions and peel potatoes at 6 am! I will continue to use it though because it makes great leftovers for my lunches during the week and I love walking into the house and smelling a delicious dinner already made when I come home.
