Is Anybody Home?

If you swing by here regularly, you might be wondering, Where did she go?

If that’s you, I sincerely thank you for coming back and checking in.  And I apologize for disappearing for a few weeks unexpectedly.

What happened?

Well, we are in the process of selling our house.

{Teaser:  You can expect a future post about selling a house while living in it with two kids.  Spoiler alert:  It’s really fun.}

And then I got sick, and then life just happened.  If I’m being totally honest, I went into this process thinking I could do it all but then in the midst of it, I had to choose between stretching myself thinner than I already was or keeping my sanity.  And I chose door #2, so blogging went by the wayside for a bit.  But I’m getting my feet back under me and I have a plan, so I’m hoping to get back on track next week.

In the meantime, I’ve been living in the moment.  Keeping my home immaculate 24/7 is no easy feat when living with four people, so we’ve chosen to be away from the house as much as possible, and we’ve also not had any new house projects to tackle – they were all finished in preparation for sale!  It’s been lovely not feeling that nagging sense of undone projects and just being able to enjoy my family.

must figure out how to carry that forward, even when this phase is over and life gets back to normal.

So speaking of normal, I’ll see you again next week.  Thanks again for sticking with me.

  1. Good luck to you! I have had the experience of selling with one little tornado and I remember the calls from our real estate agent in the middle of nap time were always more stressful than exciting. I look forward to reading about your experience!

  2. I definitely know how you feel, we sold our home and bought a new one when our son was just a couple months old. It’s exhausting and also pretty emotional. I hope that you are able to sell fast and settle down somewhere else again soon!
